Spam Madness

I started using the wonderful e-mail spam filter POPFile at home a few weeks ago… I would have estimated the percentage of “spam” e-mails I get was about 85% – but no, it’s worse!:

Note also that this makes a grand total of 2,881 e-mails in just over 3 weeks (of which 2,563 are spam).
As if the blog comment spam that forced me to turn off comments on this blog (for now at least) wasn’t bad enough… Funny thing is I hardly had any spam e-mail at my home / personal addresses until the very week that Network Solutions / Verisign starting selling the e-mails associated with my (personal) domain name registrations. Thanks Network Solutions!
I guess I must be right on track for helping to up that spam average though? *yay*

According to POPFile (mentioned before) my personal e-mail Spam rate is now up at 90.9% – yay! This article claims that Spam is expected to reach 80% saturation by Q3 of 2004 – guess I’m still ahead of the curve…
